Loquacity, how much of our own vision and potential is muddied by it. Complex ideas astound us, but do not let the drivel of wordiness spoil your appetite for knowledge. There is hardly an idea that is beyond reducibility. The greatest of ideas are clear and concise, cogent within all the means of communication. Any words beyond this are in an attempt to rob you of a great message and seduce your perspectives to poison. Do not be taken in by it as Gorgias as it may seem. There are few great things that have been said in this day and age that have not already graced the lips of someone in the past, they are immortal ideas.
A great author writes for himself. He does not write for a particular audience, but for the sake of the story, he does not argue for the sake of arguing but for the sake of the argument. His words in them self will find their own audiences, and then he will be branded with a genre, label or form suitable to his craft. The author who writes to an audience - if he is talented enough - knows what to say, his words are strategic, and his phrases geared towards influencing the views of the reader. If words could kill, he would be locked up in a penitentiary awaiting a death sentence for mass murder. By way of rhetoric he construes the often very flexible boundaries of a story or idea to fit his own requirements. This being said, be careful what you read, for if there are daggers in men’s smiles there are needles in their words. Imagine all the wars fought with pins and needles, how silent it must have been on the battlefields as the tinkling of metal hitting the hard floor signified the death of a foe or comrade. The world is different in its search for words, it is a question of poison rather then loquacity. No longer do we scrounge around in the haystacks to find our phrases and needles, instead we have stacks of needles. Pin cushions of pin and little cushion. This being said, be careful what you read, for if there are needles in men’s words there is poison at their point. I won’t be one to pull out a Judas seat for you, but you can sit if you like.
